Jillian's patient just had a hysterectomy to remove cancer and was very concerned about an upper body rash. Worried about the rash, Jillian eased her concerns by contacting the doctors and anyone else needed. She comforted the patient by continuing to hold her hand and listen. Jillian spent time with the patient, talking over their fears and answering their questions. If she didn't have the answer she found someone that did.

From the patient: "During her shift she kept checking in on me, and offered a smile, hug, or a pat on my back. Jillian spoke up and became my advocate with my doctor explaining my fears and concerns. Jillian never left and was my voice when emotions got the better of me. She made sure that I understood everything happening, she took the time with me. She also answered all of my daughter's questions and took an interest in her well-being also. She made sure I had all the phone numbers I needed, went over my discharge instructions with me and then again with my daughter. She waited until I felt comfortable enough to go home, and gave me a last hug before I left. Jillian made me feel like I was her main concern, even though she had other patients to care for. She went above and beyond her duties as a nurse. Jillian eased all of my fears and concerns, making sure I left the hospital feeling better and all concerns addressed. She did so much for me, a stranger she never met. Yet I felt as if I were part of her family, giving me the best care in the world, I truly don't know what I would have done without her help. I will never forget the way she made me feel, and what she did for me. She is truly one of my Angels here on earth. You have a true treasure with her as your nurse. She is what the DAISY Award is all about, thank you!"
