Joann is a great lead RN and role model for all of her coworkers. She is always helpful and goes out of her way to take care of all the patients on the unit. She voluntarily stayed with a confused, scared, impulsive patient whom I was caring for. She sat at her bedside and held her hand and calmed the patient down, despite having her Lead RN duties at the end of the shift and also being busy orientating a new nurse as well. She also has been precepting new nurses and is very patient and knowledgeable for them. Her hard work and leadership are appreciated and noticed.

As a new nurse, Joann was very patient with me. She was more than helpful. She goes above and beyond to make sure every nurse on the unit is okay. That's why she is the "mom" of the unit. Joann is as kind and caring to her patients as she is to her nurses. Joann may be having a very hard day, but it doesn't reflect on her as she is always asking the nurses if they need anything. Every nurse on the unit is wonderful, but no one could ever replace the "mom" of Unit 2, Joann.

Joann is a nurse who always goes above and beyond for her patients and her nurses. If you are having a hard night, Joann notices without being told and steps in to help and do whatever she can to ensure your night gets better. She is always willing to go and sit and talk to patients who may be combative or anxious, even when she has a million other tasks on her plate. She takes the lead nursing role to a whole new level while making the night shift so comfortable and supported that we are now more like a family working together rather than just coworkers.

Joann is an amazing, caring, big-hearted and extremely helpful nurse. She takes care of all of her coworkers, as well as patients. She goes above and beyond to ensure all patients, including ones she isn't assigned to, are comfortable and happy. She truly cares about her coworkers. She is always there for them for advice, nursing related and not. This is why she truly is the "mom" of Unit 2. Joann is a very giving person. She is always willing to help out. She is a wonderful nurse, coworker, and friend. PCU-2 is lucky to have her!
