Jose is one of those people who makes your day brighter by him just saying hi. He is a very compassionate and caring manager. He makes sure that you feel important and well cared for. He has helped many times with scheduling issues that I have had; it is much appreciated. We love you, Jose!! Thank for bringing 100% every day.

I have been a nurse for 40 years this year - during that time I have had several managers. Never have I ever had a manager like Jose. Our unit is fairly new, Jose has made sure we have all "the bells and whistles" when it comes to necessary equipment. Jose provides for a very cohesive team sharing thoughts and ideas with us - always asking for our input. Jose listens to all of our concerns and supports us with issues and decisions. Jose is very active in meetings and committees and when I do community projects he makes sure I have the necessary resources I need without question. Jose is a great manager and deserves this recognition. We are all blessed to have him.

Jose has an infectious personality. He is always willing to help anyone at any time. He has gone from an incredible charge nurse to a manager who has not forgotten how to be an outstanding nurse. Jose is more than willing to take patients, even as a manager. He will never leave his staff drowning and will go to world's end to stand by our side. He treats his staff like family and extends himself further than humanly possible to make sure we are taken care of. His ambition is something I strive to achieve. With a level of compassion combined with a gentle sternness, Jose creates an environment I'm proud to work in. Thank you, Jose, for everything you have done for this department and thank you for never forgetting what it's like to be "one of us". You are truly an incredible person.

As a new employee to the NCH system, I have been nothing but impressed with Jose. From interview to actually being part of the team, Jose has been available and welcoming. You can tell how important this hospital and the happiness of his staff is to him. He is very hands-on and always approachable. I love how he is always checking in to make sure all is going well. Not just with me but with all his staff. He is also amazing with the patients and their families. It is very refreshing coming to work in a hospital setting where your manager truly makes you feel important. I feel blessed to have him as my manager!!! NCH is lucky to have him!

Jose is a phenomenal leader! He is always available for any problem or concern that we may have - even on his day off. He is always a phone call away! He is very in tune with the needs of our department. He is a fair and hardworking leader and we all look up to him. He is very dedicated to his job and he takes pride in a department that is well run and organized. Jose is a great multitasker juggling many things at one time. He is in the military as well as running this department and never misses a beat.
