June was a contributor to our son's recovery and discharge from the NICU. It all started directly after I delivered Baby A. He was struggling to breathe and was rushed to NICU. I saw him for just under a minute and didn't get to see him again until the very next day. When I finally got myself to NICU to visit our son, I was confused, shocked, worried, and felt very helpless. All my emotions took the best of me as I saw him hooked up to tubes and several machines assisting in his breathing. June immediately got my attention and walked me through what each tube, IV, or machine is doing to help our son. I was still struggling with my emotions but June provided so much comfort in this situation. I became less worried and more focused on his recovery. June was visible being so attentive to Baby A that I felt at ease. Each day, June's knowledge and experience guided our faith that Baby A was going to have a speedy recovery. We feel very fortunate to have met June during this experience, as she not only provided a safe haven for our son, but also nurtured him to recovery. Overall, she made our stay at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center pleasant and memorable. We commend June for her extraordinary service and nominate and support her for the DAISY Award.
