I have worked in healthcare for decades and very rarely have I come across an entire facility where the culture is servanthood with a smile. My 16-year-old son who is on the spectrum and exhibits a lot of anxiety when doctors and nurses came into the hospital in the evening and began a GI clean out. I don't think we fully grasped what that entailed although well-explained, we thought, "it couldn't be that bad...", but it was worse than imaginable. As a parent, you feel so guilty about what is taking place because you are the one who normally cares for and cleans up behind your child, but then I had one task and that was to get him up every hour to go. I fell asleep and missed one hour and it was disastrous, but throughout the whole ordeal, Junn was the epitome of kindness, consideration, encouragement, and most of all patience. These are all traits that I feel are difficult to teach...you just have to "be" all of these within your spirit. He worked so hard all night and it was a long night. I just spoke of my failure as one story from the evening, but clean up was continuous and he did it well, fast and without complaint, not even a sigh. I'm so very grateful to the entire team who was outstanding in the delivery of care. I'm grateful to them all, but Junn's work ethic combined with his great attitude made it so much more bearable for my son and for me as a parent. I am so grateful for his sacrifice, service and outstanding care. A huge thank you is appropriate and gladly extended. Thank you, Junn. Your efforts are a great example for the people around you to strive for and I just love you for it. I just could not go without saying, thank you, Junn!
