There was no specific moment or situation that let me know how great Nurse Karen is, it was when no one was looking when she shined. She was so kind, compassionate, and excellent at what she does, but the one thing that let me know that she was genuine was, she was humorous. I believe that a person can fake sincerity through short interactions, but when they let their guard down, let themselves go and enjoy themselves, their true character as a person will always shine through, and she showed me, she is amazing not only as a nurse but as a human being as well. She put up with my restless and frustrated complaining, while reassuring and making me truly believe that I wasn't alone and we were in this together. It takes a special person to take time and energy out of what had already been a long night. Nurse Karen is a very special person who is tremendously awesome at her job and has an enormous heart. Nurse Karen went above and beyond to make me feel like I was on vacation! From the bottom of my heart Nurse Karen, you were amazing.
Karen is a remarkable nurse and she exemplifies the values of Kaiser Permanente Nursing. She provides excellent care, with integrity and compassion; she is a team player, extremely professional, and keeps the patient and family in the center of everything that she does.
