I have worked with Karen and have been in awe of her critical thinking skills, assessment and knowledge as a nurse. Karen is a mentor to not only her coworkers, but also to medical and nursing students. She always willingly takes a student for the day and teaches them in an environment that is hectic and chaotic at times and always changing. I find myself going to her in situations to "run it by her" for advice and her nursing expertise.

Karen is a perfect example of a "Team Player". She always offers a hand, even in the "dirtiest" of situations, all because she cares about her coworkers and wants to help them give good care. There has never been a day that I did not know Karen Pearson "had my back"!

On the busiest of days, Karen always finds time to "fluff and puff" her patients and their family members. Little things like a pillow, warm blankets and coffee are provided to make her patients as comfortable as possible.

She is a true advocate for all her patients by relaying concerns to physicians and keeping lines of communication open in all areas. The ED at MVH has many amazing nurses, Karen is one of them that shines brighter than even those other amazing nurses.

Any day an ED patient is lucky enough to have Karen Pearson as their nurse is a "Good Day" as it is too for her coworkers!
