It was a long day of being sick and the ambulance brought me to Children's at 11:00 pm. When I got to the room I was all alone because my mom was still driving up and that was when I met Katie. At first, I thought that she was a doctor and I got worried because my mom still was not here. Then she told me that her name was Katie and that was when I found out she was my nurse for the night. I was nervous to talk to her because my mom was still not there. She could tell that I was scared and got me distracted from my pain by telling me what she liked to do for fun. Then she asked me about what I liked to do for fun. When the doctor arrived, she made me feel more comfortable to talk to the doctor. A few minutes later my mom showed up. And she introduced herself to my mom and asked us if we needed anything. Then she said that she was going to ask us a million more questions but she was so funny it didn't feel like a million. She tucked me in with a warm blanket and it made me feel like I was safe. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her give my mom a warm blanket too. During the night she was very quiet taking my vitals and giving me my medicine. Katie made me feel like it wasn't so bad being in the hospital. I also felt like she really cared about me. She made me feel like I was the world. Thank you, Katie!
