Our grandmother became a patient at Mercy in the emergency room. We were so impressed by the timely diagnosis and compassionate care of her. She was later moved to ICE. Our family has been fortunate not to have ever needed ICU services; we were overwhelmed by the professionalism of the entire staff. What they told us after many different scans was not what we wanted to hear but we knew it was the truth.
Katelyn Moore was so caring. When we had questions she acted as if time didn't matter. She took the time to come to the meeting we had with the doctor to discuss comfort care. Your staff brought coffee, water, fruit, and cookies while we were there. Please thank Katelyn and your entire staff for caring. Our grandmother was under Ms. Moore's care before her passing. Ms. Moore made her last days as comfortable and pleasant as possible. She took the time to wash her hair and face when we entered compassionate care which brought comfort to us.
I heard so many good things about Katelyn before meeting her for myself. My family kept talking of the kind, young lady that was doing such a good job and was so caring. I made it up the day of my grandma's passing and got to see for myself how knowledgeable she was at her job, but her passion went far beyond that. Katelyn showed us such concern for the pain that my grandma was going through, making the situation as comfortable for her as well as for us.
My aunt was very fond of this young lady. When I got to the hospital she was talking about how dry my grandma's skin was. Katelyn came back with a small lotion bottle of her own and let us use it on her; another way of showing such compassion. That little bottle sat on the table by the bed as we watched our grandma passing on. When the night was late and we watched our loved one pass on, we gathered up our belongings and there sat that little lotion bottle. We were reminded of the care of Katelyn, as well as the other nurses that were so loving and did an amazing job! We were blessed by the care that my grandma received while being in Mercy. Thank you to all who were a part of this journey. You all were angels.
