I was checked in and was being admitted by Kathi who was very nice and professional. When they started my IV and checked my blood sugar, my entire world came crashing down. My blood sugar was 405 and my surgery would be canceled and even worse I was officially diabetic; I was devastated. Kathi was so sweet and helped me keep it together. She was so caring and sincere, made me feel that hope was not lost, and she didn't leave my side. She could tell I was upset but trying to keep it together and she discreetly passed me a tissue box. Kathi gave me some advice and told me to take some time to absorb the news; she was so supportive to my mom who was also upset.
Kathi's kindness and sincere demeanor were so appreciated. I would like to recognize Kathi for her outstanding care and being the nurse that she is. St. Francis is lucky to have a nurse like her, and I was lucky too. Sometimes God puts people in our lives for a reason and I am forever grateful. Thank you, Kathi!
