My husband was recently diagnosed with NHL and was scheduled for a bone marrow biopsy. He was nervous not only about the procedure but also about the results of the biopsy. Kathleen was documenting outside his room in OPS and knew he was worried. She went into his room told him she was taking him back for his procedure. She stopped around the corner and spoke with him and assured him everything would be okay. She then shared her own story with my husband, which was a turning point for him. He told me later that evening about what Kathleen said and what an impact she had on him that day and that he now knows he can beat cancer. He was certain he was going to die until he spoke with Kathleen. She truly is a wonderful and caring nurse who cares about her patients. I believe God put Kathleen outside his room because he needed the encouragement by someone who fought the same battle he is now facing. She was truly a Godsend.
