I had to have surgery in September and returned with an infection to the ED about a week later. I was then admitted to your pavilion with a significant kidney infection. I had spent many hours in the ED feeling very, very ill before a bed was ready for me and by the time I arrived to my room I was beyond exhausted and slightly delirious. The nurse that was assigned to me was Kathleen Silo; I would like take this opportunity to tell you that I have never felt so cared for. Clinically, she was excellent! She seemed to know exactly what I was going through and what I was feeling. She made me feel as if I was her only patient and her only concern, which made me secure in the fact that I was in trusting, healing hands. Her keen clinical knowledge caused her to alert my doctor in regards to my symptoms which prompted my quick admission to ICU.
It has been many weeks since my brief stay on Pavilion E and I have to say that my thankfulness for Kathleen's kindness and keen clinical knowledge has not faded. Kathleen's type of passion, compassion and commitment for her profession causes an admiration that can only be described as gold standard.
