Katie came to North "officially" last July, though she worked as a traveler at North previously. In her short time here she has proven to be a leader, role model and positive force on the unit, for staff as well as for the patients and families.
Katie continually receives "A Mile Above" recognitions from her peers and the management team at The North Campus. She is often recognized for her great communication and leadership skills. She provides compassionate care and honest communication to her families and her staff.
Not long after her arrival to North, she transitioned into the Charge RN role for the North Campus UC and Inpatient units and has done a tremendous job. She is a strong patient advocate and works to always put the patient first. She collaborates with providers and families to find solutions that ensure the care the patient receives is up to CHCO standards. Her approach is both caring and supportive, setting boundaries when needed in such a way that everyone works toward the same goal, to provide the best care possible for the child.
Katie exemplifies CHCO standards of behavior and continually impresses us with her clear, direct, yet kind communication style. She is continually assessing the unit, always looking for someone she can help or something that can be done. The team knows that when Katie is on, it will be a great shift, no matter what difficult circumstances they may face.
Katie arrives to work eager and positive every day. She helps guide the team to success even in stressful times. She puts the care of the patients first and will work to give them the best care possible. She continually goes above and beyond, every shift she works!
