A year ago, my husband and I came in to deliver our first child, a baby girl. In her 24th week, we found out that she had Trisomy 18 and Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. We came into labor and delivery knowing we would be saying goodbye. Everyone here handled us with such care and love. Our nurse Katy was with us every step of the way. I have told everyone that I don't know how we would have gotten through this without Katy or without any of you who touched our lives that day.
I know that when you are in a career involving service it can sometimes be a thankless job. We are here to tell you all that we are ever so thankful for each and every one of you especially Katy. The mark that you left on our hearts will be there forever. Thank you for the grace you gave us. Thank you for giving me everything I needed physically as well as emotionally. Thank you for being the people that helped us make memories with our daughter before we said goodbye. Thank you for the hugs that you gave me as I got into our car without my baby girl.
We will be seeing you all in about a month. Out of our grief has come a ray of sunshine. We have every hope that our rainbow baby will be joining us in a couple of weeks.
