I met Kelly for the first time in ICU. I was in a very altered state. To say she has gone above and beyond is an understatement. Kelly has been rounding on my family and me every day since I was admitted, sometimes twice a day. She even rounds on Neuro, the unit I was transferred to. Kelly is not rounding with a clipboard/completing some checklist; she is present, sits down and truly listens. One look into Kelly's eyes and you know she cares. She is committed to meeting your every demand and ensuring your day is wonderful. I look forward to her visit every day. She has even offered to stay well into the evening with me to provide companionship until my family can be present. She laughs, listens and jokes at just the right time. Kelly ended her rounds one day by giving me a hug. This was not just any hug; it was a hug where you felt scooped up and held. It reminded me of being hugged by my mother when I was a little girl. Kelly is truly God's angel on Earth.
