Sadly, Kelly unexpectedly passed away on 10/31/14. The DAISY Award was presented to her family. Her nomination, which preceded her death, follows:
10/17/14. I am writing to nominate nurse Kelly Hill for the DAISY Award. Kelly is an iconic personality who runs the ER and supports Sparks in many ways and functions.
Kelly is very motivated to want to do things better. She is always trying to see past the problems to the solutions and has helped Sparks through some very difficult situations. Her ability to do this and stay focused on good patient care is outstanding and angelic, all-in-one.
Sparks has some very good nurses and I suppose we could give out a lot of awards, but to look for somebody who inspires others and can do so day after day, I think many of us would think of Kelly because we are already getting that from her. We have abundant opportunities every day to do good and be heroes, she is just usually there ahead of us.
I hope you consider her for the DAISY Award.
