My daughter was in a lot of pain and had a fever. Kelly, the angel, came in and placed the IV and was able to draw the labs at the same time, saving my daughter from another poke. Thank God. Kelly was extra kind to her. She was thinking about everything. She saw how much pain she was having and was able to give her morphine. She said she would just stand there and give it extra slow and I appreciated that because the previous time they had bolused it and she needed oxygen right after that. On top of all that I, unfortunately, suffer from Crohn's and I am in a flare up at this time. Kelly was the first person to notice that I myself was in a lot of pain. She asked what she could do for me and I said a blanket would be nice. Not only did she bring me a warm blanket she brought me a warm compress for my gut, which helped so much. She helped me so that I could help my daughter. I would have been useless to my daughter because of pain. Now mind you, she is doing all this while my daughter's nurse was on break. So she wasn't our nurse, but she took us on as if she was. Now that is someone, who not only covers the other nurse, Kelly gave it her all. Of course, to top it off, she came back a couple of hours later just to give me another warm compress, because she knew it was cold by then. She wished my daughter luck and me also. Kelly is such an awesome nurse!
