My father-in-law was brought into the emergency room by the Veterans Home with suspected pneumonia. By that night the lung doctor was called in and we were told to contact our family to say goodbyes. A forced air ventilator was placed and he was sent to the intensive care unit. The next day all of our family and grandkids were able to say their goodbyes and we settled in for a long night. Kim Cooperrider was wonderful to both the patient and me that evening. As air decreased in my father-in-law, the worse the night was. But everything that could be done for him was given with love and dignity from Kim. She held his hand and mine till the end early in the morning. I'm not sure I could have been with my father-in-law through this without her. She will always be an angel to me and I'm sure to him as well.
