I was waiting with my niece who was in the Newton Hospital ER awaiting results for 4 days of vomiting, diarrhea and a distended stomach. She was in a great deal of pain and we were both more than a little frightened while waiting the understandably long hours while testing was done and results garnered. Kim, while clearly busy being called upon for a variety of traumas in addition to administrative duties, consistently took time to check on our well-being, inquire about pain levels and discomfort and intercede to alleviate whatever she could. You may say that this was her "job" and that could possibly be true. What is definitely exceptional is that at no time did she indicate that our needs were minimal or that her intercession was burdensome. She provided kindness, understanding, and compassion at a time and place in which both my niece and I felt small, vulnerable and forgotten. What's more, she did it all with a humor, patience, and grace that we will not soon forget.

I had to visit Newton ED due to stomach issues. I was very scared and nervous, and then Kim came to help me. She calmed me down and went above and beyond to make me comfortable. She is a beautiful, skilled nurse. I felt so lucky to have her take care of me. Kim is a wonderful person and nurse. Thank you, Kim, for being there to help me.
