Kristen Rosenblatt is a very compassionate nurse. She provides patient-centered care and support to all of her patients. This particular night was extra special. She was caring for an elderly man admitted with respiratory distress from a nursing home. He had a stroke in the past and was not very responsive. Despite the report this nurse took extra time to care for him and time to assess if he could understand and respond back to her. A couple of hours later in the night he did start to show some small improvement and signs of understanding what she was saying. She continued to explain the care she was providing. As a result, this patient was made to feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. She made a difference in this man's life that night and she is extraordinary. Following discharge the patient sent a bouquet of flowers to the ICU stating "With great thanks to an exceptionally fine nurse" from your grateful patient!" It is a pleasure to work with her.
