As a first-time mother with no idea what to expect during labor, Kristin was there to ease all my worries - ranging from the trivial to the life-altering. I am a healthy young woman with no previous medical history, but I was admitted to the hospital under what I perceived to be stressful circumstances. I had developed preeclampsia in the last day of my pregnancy, what had otherwise been a breezy one. Going into the hospital to induce labor under this new development was stressful, and I had no idea what to expect. Kristin was there to walk me through every step of induction, to an attempted natural labor, to a labor with an epidural, to then what turned into a last-minute cesarean section.
Through every push, through every moment of uncertainty during labor, through a post-op involving all sorts of medication, Kristin was there. She eased my mind into believing I could do whatever my body wanted to do and that everything would be okay, even when I thought it was possible that life may end for me (drastic, I know).
Kristin's calming reassurance and persistent patience got me through it all, and there is no way I could have gotten through this tumultuous experience without her. And then to have her walk us through new parenthood just made the circle of life for us here complete. Kristin was nothing short of amazing, and our little family will never forget her. She will forever be our first-born child's "Auntie Kristin."
