This summer my daughter went to OB Triage; she was 22 weeks 2 days pregnant and her membranes had ruptured. At the time my daughter presented to OB she wasn't sure what had happened but she did feel something was wrong. She was there alone, I was at home trying to make it to the hospital because the battery in my car died. My daughter was scared, alone and did not know what was happening with her baby. Kristy went above and beyond her care for my daughter at a time when she was alone and afraid. She spoke to me (worried mom) on the phone reassuring me that they were doing everything they could (rupture of membranes had not been diagnosed as of yet). Kristy stayed in the room with my daughter reassuring her and comforting her. When the diagnosis of ruptured membranes was made there was Kristy, comforting me and my daughter. Not only did she show care and compassion to us both she was also very efficient; efficient in preparing my daughter and getting her transported to another hospital for further care. Because of her thorough explanation to us both of what to expect when we arrived at the other hospital my daughter and I both left WKBH feeling a little more at ease regarding the possible outcome of her pregnancy.
Her caring did not stop after our transfer, when I run into Kristy at work she still remembers my daughter and wants to know how she is doing. Thank you for being not only a nurse but a nurse who is filled with care and compassion. A nurse who goes above and beyond treating a patient based on their diagnosis but having the compassion to comfort patients when they need it the most. WKBH is a much better place because of you!
