I had surgery and a colostomy. I am weak, in pain and so anxious about this colostomy. Lacee Dilliard has talked to me and my family giving us informative material and showed and explained so much to us. We started out with her doing everything. Now I do the colostomy with her guidance! So, when I go home, I will be able to take care of myself. She is so kind! A great nurse. A real Blessing to me. Thank you, Lacee!

Lacee joined the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands team and in 2005 became a member of the first skincare counsel here at this campus. She has always had a passion for skin care, wound prevention, and treatment. She became the council co-chair in 2010, and with financial support from Memorial Hermann the Woodlands, achieved her goal of becoming a certified wound ostomy nurse. Upon completion of the program, Lacee approached the administrative staff to pilot a new position she would fill as the first wound ostomy nurse dedicated to the Memorial Hermann Woodlands campus. At that time, she also became the skin council chair, leading the committee to multiple awards and recognition in the areas of pressure ulcer prevention and incontinence associated dermatitis. Having such a dedicated nurse as Lacee is this position results in expedited consults, and more thorough assessments, resulting in improved patient outcomes and is universally recognized as a tremendous asset to Memorial Hermann the Woodlands nurses and patients. Lacee works long hours, often staying later than her required commitment due to her passion for her work and commitment to providing the best possible care. She is a leader in every aspect of the word and is always receptive of outside input for process improvement. Her creativity, compassion, and steadfast determination make her an extraordinary nurse worthy of recognition. It is an honor to work beside Lacee, and her competence and skill contribute to every staff nurse at Memorial Hermann the Woodlands.
