I think what stands out the most about Larry is the relationships he forms with others. Larry is the first to introduce himself to a new employee, an SNA, any of our student nurses or the Residents. He’s the first to form a relationship with our residents and they seek him out whenever they have a question or concern. He has formed several strong bonds with our patients, and they always remember him fondly when they return. Larry is always the first staff member to volunteer to attend ANY educational program. He’s been a super user for almost every new initiative since he started working at St. Joseph’s. He loves to learn and share that knowledge with others. Larry excels in our teaching learning environment. He loves to teach and is a strong preceptor.
My Dad spent the last two months of his life as a 2-8 patient. During his stay almost everyone took great care of all of us. However, throughout Dad’s entire end of life journey, Larry Beale was a rock to all of us. He felt like an extension of our family. Larry would give direction and clarification if there was confusion. He offered compassion and strength when any of us were in need. On Dad’s final day, he came to visit him and we were able to witness first hand – the bond of nurse – patient – and family.
Thank you Larry Beale, RN – for being an exceptional nurse and human being. Our family and the St. Joseph’s family are very fortunate to have you on the team.
