I am a first-time mom and during my 9th month of pregnancy, my blood pressure began to decline. My midwife gave me the news that I would need to transfer care and my goal was a natural, vaginal birth. During labor and delivery, Laura was on duty for a great deal of the time. My husband and I, being first time parents, had lots of questions. She answered every question without hesitation. She even provided material and resources for our development. She was kind, nurturing and tended to my every need to the best of her ability. I felt a great connection with her over all the nurses I encountered during my stay. When labor got hard for me she provided me with a ball to help ease my pain. She checked on me often and made me feel very comfortable. She mentioned that one of her goals would be to become a midwife. I think she would be excellent because of her interpersonal skills. She is a special lady and I don't believe being a nurse is just a job for her. It's her calling and purpose. She is truly extraordinary. After my delivery, she found my post-partum room and gave me a big hug! She truly met my every need.
