Let me briefly detail what makes Laura special:
1) Herself Laura Williams a graduate of Evergreen College in San Jose started with 3 South as a New Graduate 10 years ago and newly married. During her tenure I have been immensely impressed with her ability in dealing with patients. She has the requisite qualification and knowledge that is expected of every nurse
2) Her Family Newly married when she came to 3 South, now she has three kids and all girls and a husband who works in the police department, Laura has a good balance of family and work. She always shown pictures of her kids and talk about how they are doing as well as her relationship with them. Some are happy some are challenging. She always share with her co workers what she has done on her days off, where she went on vacation and what she just bought at Target. She makes everyone aware that her family is definitely a priority that she takes seriously.
2) COURTESY, PROFESSIONALISM, and a SUPERIOR SERVICE ATTITUDE: I really appreciated that she gives me as her supervisor an OPTION. When a problem arises in the unit she does not react She gives you option and is level headed about the issue She posses the ingenuity and adaptability to be able to think “outside the box” and answer questions that will give you facts and background up front so that you know what level you are dealing from, and to give credibility for what they are about to tell you. She will often tell you the exact details and circumstances of their problem up front, as well as detailing the exact resolution they are seeking.
3) EMPATHY: She is able to help see things from your point of view. She will immediately empathized and will be able to put her in your shoes, and because she appeared to care sincerely about helping get questions answered, You feel confident that Laura would do her best to help!
One thing that Laura exhibits is that enthusiasm, and care about the customer’s problem. Laura is a shining example of someone who knows her patient.
4) ABILITY TO DEAL WITH DIFFERENT CUSTOMER TYPES: This is more crucial than many managers seem to realize. Laura demonstrates a strong grasp of the subtleties of this particular concept
4) COMPETENCE: Using manners and this is not going “above and beyond”, these are things that she does! It is quite refreshing to speak with a Nurse like Laura, who demonstrates a high level of competence; Laura performed all her tasks competently and with commitment and enthusiasm. She has demonstrated the ability to work under pressure and to plan and organize successfully to complete her task timely. She possesses excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills and is able to express herself with confidence and maturity. She has proved to be both willing and flexible and she is always prepared to help out when needed, that have allowed her to develop good working relationships with both her colleagues and management.
I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Laura for a DAISY Award based on her embodiment of the personality traits listed above.
