My mother has been a patient for 10 days on PCU. She had a heart attack and was admitted through the Emergency Department. Lavette showed compassion and support during this stressful event. She provided sincere concern for my father and myself. She spent time offering support and answering questions regarding hospital procedures and how each process worked. She never was hurried or unconcerned. She helped me set up Home Health with the Case Manager. She went beyond the required to help us. I am from out of town and spent 24 hours daily with my mother as she is 86 years old and in a strange environment. Lavette offers a sincere, caring comfort which is so appreciated during a stressful event. She is so sincere and knowledgeable about the total nursing and hospital experience. Her nursing skills were excellent. I observed her helping other nurses without being asked to join in the work. She stops in throughout the 12-hour shift just to offer positive remarks and to ask if she can get us supplies or any items we may need.
