My mother wasLinda'spatient. Mom is one of the type of patients who will hesitate to ask for help with anything. I was working that weekend, and was unable to be with Mom during the day. When I went to her room that evening, she asked me if we had a lot of patients. I said "the usual." Mom told me she had wondered, because she thought she was Linda's only patient!Linda checked on mom frequently, and made sure to be very aware of Mom's needs. When Mom was exhausted sitting up, Linda made sure to get her to bed so that she could rest. Linda was also very upbeat with Mom, but was sure to explain everything and tell Mom the "whys" of what was happening. Linda had several practical suggestions, too, to help Mom breathe better. I have no words to explain what is in my heart about the care Mom received on Linda's watch. The fact that Mom felt she was Linda's only patient on that weekend relieved my concerns and the guilt I felt as I wasn't able to be in her room all day.
