There was a patient on CCU that died from a myocardial infarction. While staff members were coding the patient, Lindsay sat outside the room and comforted the son. Note that this was not even Lindsay's patient. She was very compassionate towards the son and helped him tremendously deal with his grief. When the patient did not survive, the son asked Lindsay if she would go in the room with him to pay his respects. Lindsay obliged and again sat in a chair next to the son and offered support. This was a very sad situation as the father and son were homeless and living in the father's truck. Lindsay was very moved by this family. When the son was going to leave, he made a point to come back in the unit to find Lindsay and thank her. I overheard him tell her that she really helped him a lot and that her compassion meant a lot to him. Lindsay went above and beyond to help this main with his grief.
