Lindsey is a relatively new nurse, having started her nursing career on 9 East not quite a year ago in August of 2015. Since then she has demonstrated an unmistakable passion for the nursing profession and specifically for the care of our adult acutely ill patients. She has a curiosity that motivates her, and compassion that drives her to give great care to her patients and their family members.
Recently one of our former patients and his wife nominated Lindsey for the DAISY Award. While he was dealing with the uncertainty of a diagnosis along with associated fevers, rashes, and fluid accumulation, our patient said that "Lindsey was there for me and my wife as well, who often stayed the night, every step of the way."
On one particular night, his symptoms had accelerated into a crisis, and Lindsey advocated on his behalf to get a physician and STAT nurse to the bedside as quickly as possible. "She was much more than just a nurse that night, she was an advocate who recognized the seriousness of my situation and took assertive and stalwart action on my behalf."
