Thank You! On September 12, 2013 our baby was born at St. Luke's downtown (Boise). The staff at St. Luke's L&D were truly miracle workers. I wished I had everyone's names that helped me in an emergent situation to THANK them. Especially your triage nurse that was making two phone calls at the same time. Our daughter, was born spontaneously breech. I checked into St. Luke's at 1:37, my water broke at 1:45 and after three pushes I had her in the operating room at 2:07.

My husband and I were planning a Birthing Center birth out of Hospital, with a midwife, but because the baby was breech they could no longer accept me as a patient. Neither of us ever wanted a hospital birth, but unfortunately we were scheduled for a c-section 9/13/2013. We were concerned that we would not get a natural birth plan if we went with a hospital. However, St. Luke's proved us WRONG. We were shocked and amazed at how respected we felt and even on the operating table ALL of our birth wishes were respected, despite the circumstances.

Although I did not get my "dream water birth" in a natural setting, like the Birthing Center, I felt your staff went above and beyond to make our birth feel natural. We LOVED, nurse Lisa that worked in the recovery room after the baby was born. She did not rush us at all and respected our wishes for skin to skin for a few hours. I will forever be grateful for nurse Lisa because that bonding time was so important for both of us. I'm without words to express how important that was and how respected I felt. She is one amazing nurse.
