There was a child who was very uncomfortable being in the hospital. Nothing, including pain meds, comforted the child. Although the patient was not assigned to Lori, she did not hesitate when asked for assistance. The child was accustomed to sleeping with a teddy bear at home, but there were not stuffed animals available anywhere on this night shift. Lori made a teddy bear with towels, rubber bands, and Coban. The child was so excited and happy! He slept the rest of the night with his "teddy bear". Lori takes great care of her patients and provides compassionate care, going above and beyond to make her patients comfortable. She is often recognized by her patients for her compassion and attentiveness to their needs.
