Lori Smith went above and beyond every day with our daughter while she was in the NICU. When she was working I never had to worry about my daughter. She actually took care of our first daughter one year earlier. With our second I was really sick and intubated and I still remember my husband telling me, “Our daughter is at Children’s hospital, but don’t worry, Lori is her nurse.” I was very out of it and don’t remember much from this time, but I do remember this.

She provided the best communication from shift to shift with our daughter’s care and how my daughter and I would want things done. She also was good with coming up with new ways to keep my daughter safe from pulling out her tubes that she did not include restraints. She always had my daughter’s best interest at hand. Above all she really cared about my daughter in a way that I only thought I would be capable of.
