A patient on the Medical Unit East sent an amazing letter to our Nursing CEO about the care and compassion he received from Margaret. He described her assistance as exemplary. I have extracted the following from his letter.

Margaret Ryan responded to learning about my incident in an unusually thorough, professional manner. On two occasions, Margaret came to my room at the end of her shift and stayed well beyond the time she should have left for the day in order to resolve my remaining concerns about the episode. Her calm reassurance during those visits was so very helpful to me that I would indeed be remiss not to let her superiors know of her remarkable professionalism and devotion to the welfare of patients in 7E.

Margaret deserves the very highest praise and recognition, not only for her truly outstanding professionalism, but also for the quiet, but effective supervisory ability that encouraged the best from everyone in her staff who provided nursing care for me. Indeed, Margaret's supervisory ability would have definitely caught my attention during my former career as a hospital personnel director.

I have no doubt that beatified Mother Emilie Gamelin, Founder of the Sisters of Providence, would say of Margaret's dedicated professional performance during my hospital stay, "Well and faithfully done."
