While our Wound Care nurse was off for 8 weeks of training, Mariel Dumaguin-Velarde went above and beyond and coordinated a wound care class for her co-workers. She contacted the speakers, vendors and worked with her manager to arrange for the staff to attend the class. They have seen a decrease in pressure ulcer on this unit.
