Mark is always looking to make sure his patients cultural, emotional, and spiritual needs are met when he provides anesthesia care. Mark's displays of compassion, clinical excellence, and respect for all that he cares for should be what other nurses strive for.

Mark Wagner is one of the most caring, compassionate CRNAs in our department. He always takes the time to sit down and connect with each and every patient. Mark always finds time to listen to his patient's needs, fears, stress and turn those into positive emotions.
To me, Mark is the definition of compassion. He cares deeply about his patients and their family members. Aside from his vast clinical skills, the way that he connects with his patients is remarkable. A true shining star!
Mark is always available to lend a hand in stressful situations. A specific case was a complicated open lung procedure where he assisted with the induction then helped place additional IV access and an artificial line when others had been unsuccessful. He was present at emergencies and helped maintain a tenuous airway following extubation in a critically ill patient.
Just the other day I had a patient who was very talkative in pre-op. Pre-op can be a very busy place with production pressure. Mark demonstrated his usual compassion and patient-centered care by taking the time to sit down with the patient and simply listen to her life story. Many nurses would not have taken the time to engage in such a conversation with a patient, but I have seen Mr. Wagner demonstrate this compassionate behavior on a regular basis.

Mark shows his care for patients every day by providing excellent anesthesia. He is constantly advocating for his patients to ensure their safety.
He exemplifies professionalism in every aspect of duty on a daily basis.
He defines the Beaumont standards of providing compassionate, extraordinary care every day. He provides excellent anesthesia care and really listens to his patients and truly cares.

Mark exemplifies the Beaumont standards by taking extra time in Pre-op with nervous patients and family to help with all of their fears. He is always willing to lend a hand with extra IVs and lines, transporting patients to and from the ICU.

Mark is a pleasure to work with as a coworker. He exemplifies professionalism, never complains, and is always willing to help his coworkers. He goes out of his way to seek the most challenging cases, and to take the best care of his patients. He is a true DAISY Nurse in my eyes.

I have witnessed on several occasions mark rises up to a challenge and comes out of it with grace. He is a huge asset to the Anesthesia department. Mark is always willing to lend a helping hand.
