It is always a pleasure for me to work with Marsha because she is such a genuine person. Marsha is a special nurse who has a unique connection with her patients and their families. She seems to know their needs before they are presented.

I regularly observe Marsha as she lovingly cares for her patients. There is a connection that only comes from her genuine love for people and her job. Recently she paged me to help one of her patient's complete a health care power of attorney. She told me that he was able to express his wishes, but would need a little extra time and explanation from me. As I attempted to go over the form with him, the patient listened for a few moments and then seemed to fall asleep, so I asked Marsha for help. It was truly amazing to watch as Marsha awakened her patient and held his hand while I explained health care power of attorney. We were able to complete the form and more importantly know the patient's wishes just because Marsha knew her patient so well that she was able to meet his needs. This is just one example of the Marsha I regularly encounter.

Marsha is very aware of family needs also and frequently calls for a chaplain visit when she recognizes a need. Often I see Marsha ministering to her patient, their families and her coworkers. She is a faith-filled woman, who certainly works for God as she cares for her patients and their families. It is always a pleasure for me to work with Marsha Williams and I believe she is the ideal candidate for the DAISY Award!
