LCDR Reza selflessly performed duties as a nurse and samaritan for the 91-year-old patient on 5B. He took the time to shave and groom this patient along with doing his laundry so he would have clean clothes to wear on his travels back CONUS. Additionally, when he saw this patient's undershirts and socks were in various states of despair, he purchased him new sets. He was also a vocal advocate for this patient when it came time to secure transport and escort for him CONUS. LCDR Reza was a true advocate, liaison and humanitarian in the care of this patient. He personified the profession of nursing through his selfless and compassionate acts. Many senior military nurses move away from the bedside, but LCDR Reza continues to serve as an example in the Nurse Corps as both officer and provider. He is most deserving of the DAISY Award.
