Megan acts as a preceptor on our unit. She is also finishing her Master's Degree. She sits down with all of her patients whether it is to teach them about a procedure, medications or simply to hold their hand. Megan is always considerate to staff, family members of first and foremost the patients. A patient of hers came up Friday to thank her for all of her great care. He was so thankful for her great care. He said Megan held his hand and calmed him down while the MD placed a chest tube in him. The patient said it was so painful and he was very scared but thanks to Megan he felt very comforted by her. He said he could not have asked for a more loving person or better nurse. The patient stated that Megan was always smiling and very warm. He stated that Megan even came to visit him on another unit a few days later after he had been transferred. The patient wrote a Saluting our Stars for Megan and said Megan is truly a blessing, or rather, is a true blessing.
