Jacob is such a kind and caring nurse and a great co-worker. Jacob willingly took a patient from a curtained room assignment because he had a closed room. When the patient came to the ED he was pretty dirty. The patient's living conditions were not the best, and for whatever reason, he was not able to take care of himself. The patient came in covered in feces, flees, and the smell of urine was pretty strong. Jacob offered to help the patient to the decontamination room so that he could have a shower. This was not something the physician had ordered. Literally, no one asked Jacob to this do this. Jacob, on his own accord, offered to shower the patient not because the odor was bothersome to the staff, but because he cared for the patient as a person and wanted to give him the most dignified care. While it's so easy to judge someone, not once did Jacob make the patient feel less than in any way. This is not an isolated situation, this is just how Jacob cares for his patients. Wesley is extremely lucky to have such a wonderful nurse who embodies the true mission of Wesley and the ICARE values.
