Michelle cared for my mother in the MICU. She not only gave her medical attention and support but took her time to treat her as if she was her mom. She gave her loving, emotional support. She always had a smile when she entered her room and told a joke or two. Most importantly, she took her time to explain every procedure, every test, and paperwork involved in her situation. This eased my mother's mind as she sat in a panic because not a lot was explained to her prior to Michelle. She also clarified what the doctor's statements meant, and gave her the information needed to make an educated decision on wishes for her care. Knowing that I could go home and leave my mom resting comfortably, with a friendly, loving nurse gave me confidence and trust that she was in good hands, and not lying in bed staring at the ceiling in a state of panic.
Once transferred to another floor, Michelle brought her down herself and remained with us to help her settle in, checked in on her, comforted her, and offered support to our family. Thank you, Michelle, for taking the time out of your busy day to offer compassion. Michelle went over and beyond her medical duties and for that, I thank her. Michelle, you were an angel sent to us from heaven, and we will forever be grateful for you! You made a huge difference to her and us!
