As a seasoned ICU RN, preceptor, relief charge, and the chair of our customer services and retention committee, Mesha understands the impact that adequate staffing can have on patient care and the morale of a unit. Due to unforeseen attrition and the growth of our unit to sixteen beds, we were in a difficult predicament with being short-staffed on our day shift. As a night shift RN in the NSICU, Mesha volunteered and stepped up in a big way by offering to remain flexibility within her schedule to assist on the day shift for a three-month time frame. Not only is she changing her regular work schedule, but she has agreed to work on both days and nights during this period, based on where her services are needed the most. She has found a way of infusing positivity into the unit by organizing team-oriented fundraisers, most recently of which is the toy drive to benefit our own pediatric patients and the Elf Louise program. Mesha most certainly is an unsung hero in our unit. I just wanted to take the time to sing some praises on her behalf as we all certainly appreciate the effort, professionalism, dedication, integrity, and friendship that she brings to the unit. Thank you, Mesha, for all that you do! We most certainly appreciate and value you!
