Being a student nurse is tough, and any student nurse has been there in trying to get as much experience and encouragement in the time we have. Finding people who embrace students, questions, and learning, as well as have patient rapport is rare and golden.
In my days with Michelle and April, I saw many patients and learned by seeing the wounds I had only seen in textbooks. I had wonderful learning conversations to go with them. Every patient was treated with care and dignity, even when the patient wasn't so accommodating. Cheerful and upbeat, the mood was contagious and the patients responded the better for it. Michelle and April never shied away from helping the other nurses as they went and had an excellent relationship with both patients and staff.
I had a wonderful experience and would greatly consider pursuing a career in Wound Care after seeing the care and consideration these two ladies put into both their relationships with patients and colleagues!
