Mikko is a very humble, caring young man who cares about people. Very attentive, I was very honored to have him as my Nurse. Mikko is an awesome Nurse. He was able to make me laugh even when I didn't want to. Amazing person, all the nice things a person can say about a person such as Mikko there are not enough good words to say about Mikko. I would like to write down all of the good words but it's not enough space. Thank you, Mercy Hospital, for having someone such as Mikko on staff here, Thank You!

Coming in with a 95-year-old patient is stressful enough. Mikko was more than professional, as well as proficient to my dad's needs. I am thankful and grateful for his devotion.

I was brought to this unit early in the morning and ever since Mikko introduced himself as my Nurse. He was attentive to my care and needs. I was bored in my room and Mikko allowed me to walk around the halls and I came across this DAISY Award station and I knew that I had to nominate him. Why? What was so special about Mikko?
Well, on this very day a patient next door was not doing well at all. I could hear Mikko, all the commotion going on and I knew it was bad. I remember dialing his phone because my room became heavily flooded and he answered and although he didn't come, it was taken care of immediately. Sometime later he stopped by and apologized and explained he had an emergency next door. Again, he attended to my care and needs and made sure everything was handled accordingly.
I could tell Mikko was very busy and stressed but not once did he complain and never lost his smile and before he left my room, he said, "If there is anything I can do for you, call me." After me being nosey with the neighbor patient, I found out that the patient had gone into cardiac arrest and Mikko was one of the Nurses helping to save this person's life. I could sense something was on Mikko's mind, but not once did he mention it and not once did he stop smiling! These are the types of Nurses we need. Thank you, Mikko for saving that person's life and for not letting it interfere with your job duties. You are awesome!
