Being in the hospital is a very unpleasant experience. Patients have to be away from their home, family, and everyday events. Many times, I (as a patient) have felt quite lonely. I am not used to being by myself at all. I am always surrounded by children, family, husband, anyone, but rarely alone. While in the hospital sometimes I needed someone to talk to, and Miriam was there when she could. She would hear me, and I would hear her. She was extremely attentive. Always came within minutes of me calling her. It was almost like she knew when I needed her. She answered the phone so sweetly and assured me she would be of assistance as soon as she could. While in my room, she would treat me as if I was the only patient in this hospital even though I knew for sure it was not the case. She would take her time and take care of all of my needs constantly asking me if there was anything else she could do. She was my nurse for three or four nights during my stay. I would be overjoyed to know she would be taking care of me. People like her make this place a more pleasant place to be. She made me feel safe and like I do matter.
