Mollie has gone above and beyond anyone who has been treating me at Memorial Cancer Center. When I have a concern no matter how big or small I know that I can go to Mollie and get an answer. If she has to check with the doctor, she does and calls me at home. If my paperwork gets screwed up and a blood test that was supposed to be made isn't there, she makes sure that my poor sore arm doesn't have to get poked anymore than necessary by getting it added before they do the blood draw. I know that if I ask Mollie anything she will provide me with the correct medical information and if it's beyond her responsibility I know that she will follow up with the doctor or NP and get back with me promptly. Even when she was waiting on the doctor's reply she called to let me know that the answer was being worked on and that she hadn't forgotten about me. She is always there with a smile and a hug.
My husband was diagnosed with heart failure recently and my daughter was struggling about losing her dad. She was having chest pains and scared. My daughter asked Mollie if this was something to be worried about or if it was anxiety. Mollie explained to her that it was most likely anxiety and explained that if she felt worst to seek medical attention but if she would take some deep breaths and try to relax that she would feel better. She took her blood pressure which was perfectly normal and checked on us after class. Mollie didn't have to do that but it meant the world to both my daughter and I. Mollie is kind, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, respectful, pleasant, funny and I feel so much better knowing that she is on my team to make sure that I get the best care possible. I know that every patient of Mollie's gets the same treatment as I get. She is so dedicated to her profession and to her patients.
When I had to have knee surgery I tried to explain to everyone that I had to have my blood checked more frequently and it caused so much stress that I was literally making myself sick. Eventually, I ended up seeing the doctor and I was in tears. It was then that I was assigned to Mollie and from this point forward I haven't had to worry about getting the numbers to know what to do because Mollie makes sure that I am taken care of with all my medical oncology needs and concerns. Since I have had Mollie as my nurse my stress levels have diminished because prior to Mollie I was constantly struggling to get my blood counts and keep my platelets numbers in check. She is a winner and I will be forever grateful.
