Morgan is a very special nurse. Being admitted to the hospital for 42 days, I've had a lot of different nurses. I had a condition with my heart called endocarditis, resulting from IV drug use. As someone who has struggled with addiction for several years, I have formed a complex being an addict, thinking it was stamped on my forehead "Drug Addict". I formed this complex mostly because of my paranoia and insecurities, but sometimes I was made to feel this way - shamed for what I was here for - but Morgan treated me as an equal. She literally felt like a loving, caring big sister who wholeheartedly cared about what happened to me. She always listened and took me seriously - never brushing any concerns of mine off. She allowed me to feel heard and like my worries and concerns were important.
Also, I never second-guessed Morgan. It was very clear she knew what she was doing as far as her job was concerned. She would hold my hand, hug me and let me cry - whatever I needed from her - even the occasional attitude adjustment was in order from her in the kindest of ways though. This was a very hard time for me. I would have panic attacks and suffer from depression and anxiety and she would pull me right out of my "funks" and have me laughing! This nurse is very special! You are very lucky to have her. I don't know how I would have gotten through this without her.
