Nicole went above and beyond on August 27, 2009. She was caring for the first time, a patient that was from Kentucky. He was here with is mother and they were preparing for discharge for the following day. The mother was going to be making the long trip home with her recovering, handicapped son by herself. Nicole was helping the mother prepare by getting her son’s prescriptions filled on the day prior to discharge. Unfortunately, one of the prescriptions, Roxicodone, was not available at the nearby pharmacies. Nicole took it upon herself to make multiple phone calls to locate a pharmacy that could fill this prescription. The closest pharmacy was at the Waterworks Mall in Aspinwall. Nicole being nine months pregnant made the heartfelt, caring decision to drive to Aspinwall after her shift was finished and fill the prescription for this family. The mother voiced her concern about driving in an unfamiliar area to find the pharmacy and did not want to leave her son. Without hesitation, Nicole volunteered to go. She also had to work another 12-hour shift the following day.
