...Over the past several months, Pam has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills. During the time that OR has been without a manager and director, Pam has stepped up and taken ownership for ensuring that the OR continues to run efficiently and that we are providing high quality patient care.

Pam has been a true role model in fostering a team atmosphere. She has created enthusiasm around starting a shared governance council in the OR. She has designed a "You Rock" box for the staff to recognize their co-workers for going above and beyond. She has remained positive during many stressful situations. She has encouraged staff to work together when a case is finished by sending an overhead page which has decreased our room turnover times. She has been instrumental in convincing several of our agency staff to hire on as permanent staff.

Pam has done a great job of identifying and solving issues before they become major problems. She has been seen by staff and physicians as the "go-to" person in the OR during this time of leadership change. Pam never hesitates to jump in to staff a room when someone calls in and she will do this without ever voicing a complaint. Pam has been an amazing positive force in the OR and because of her outstanding leadership, we have been able to provide excellent patient care in the OR during these very busy months.

...

Pam Munthe can be described in one word, amazing. Prior to my maternity leave, Pam did a wonderful job as our OR Supervisor. She has assisted in organizing the OR, changing and implementing procedures, decreasing room turn over time, and much more. As I left for leave, the OR went through an unexpected change in leadership. Pam immediately stepped up and not only ran the day-to-day operations of the OR, but managed the staff and many other operations. As always, she exceeded expectations and did many things that were not her responsibility without being asked. She did an amazing job holding the OR and staff together. I knew with her here, everything would be ok.

Pam is not only a wonderful supervisor, but a wonderful person. Every day I hear her thank the staff and ask them if they are doing ok and seeing what she can do for them. Pam has made the OR run smooth and efficient and most of all, fun for everyone.
