I recently was hospitalized with chest pains and shortness of breath. After being in the hospital a few days, I was diagnosed with CHF and Pulmonary Hypertension. During my hospitalstay,I was given a gift of Trish to be my nurse for 5 of the 7 days while I was hospitalized.
Trish gave me uncompromising care and was very compassionate, thoughtful, encouraging, and loving. She went above and beyond the call of duty. Once, I was very scared and she stopped and held my hand and comforted me. She treated me like I was her mother and she was a part of my family. I ask you, what more could any patient want?
She was fabulous with my children. When they came to visit, she took the time to meet each one and discuss what was going on and what the plan of care was for the day. My children called her several times a day and she always took the time to answer all their questions and listen to all their concerns. She addressed any concerns they had and even would call them back.
Trish spent time explaining procedures to me; I am hard of hearing, with the patience of Job. She was always optimistic, understanding, supportive, cheerful, and especially kind to me.
Trish is a nurse that you get once in a lifetime when you are very ill, scared, and want to give up, and brings you back to appreciate what a wonderful world it is. Thank God for Trish!
